Vocal Vices from Hatstand Opera

Vocal Vices, the new show from Hatstand Opera, is ready to roll out on its 2009 tour.

Vocal Vices
Where vice is nice - and the singing simply divine...

Take seven deadly sins, a fistful of modern vices, a pride of singers and an almost penitent pianist, for a night of pure entertainment heaven.

Vocal Vices is the naughty new show from Hatstand Opera that’s greedy for good tunes, lustful for laughter but never too proud to be fun!

Treat yourself to a divinely decadent portion of opera and operetta, garnished with show tunes, and seasoned with songs you can’t help but hum along with. Our sinful music shortlist so far includes:
  • adorable avarice from Bernstein’s “Candide”
  • a very Popular “Wicked” witch
  • romance gone wrong in Rossini’s “Italian Girl in Algiers”
  • one very hungry wolf going “Into the Woods”
  • highly respectable lust from Franz Lehar, Tom Lehrer, and Tom Jones!
  • a moral moment from Mozart’s “Magic Flute”
  • gorgeous gluttony from Gilbert & Sullivan
  • and lots of “Money, money, money”…
In this day and age, it seems “Anything Goes”, but all Hatstand Opera shows are definitely naughty but NICE! You can bring your 14 year old and not be embarrassed (unless they giggle at something you don’t understand), and your granny will have a whale of a time too.

Combining great songs, wonderful singing, and a ‘twinkle in the eye’ sense of humour, Vocal Vices is our best show yet!
